Long shot

First time I saw him was on stage looking dapper and brilliant, presenting this huge project he was working on. I was impressed, both on the project and with him. ‘He’s pretty cute,’ I thought, but then corrected myself, ‘no, he’s gorgeous.’ A little innocent crush. It’s not like I stand a chance. I didn’t even know if he was single. And I probably don’t even have a chance to meet him.

Unexpectedly we got introduced to each other by a new friend we both met at the event. I didn’t really think much of it more than just a professional connection. But I must admit, he is amazingly charming, bordering on dangerous (for my heart, yes). It was a lovely evening spent with him chatting over drinks until the bar closed and we had to go our separate ways.

There was something there, I think. Perhaps worth taking a chance on. It’s not something I would typically consider, someone who lives a long way away. Its way beyond the 1-hour drive limit. But what the heck, I might as well.

It’s a pretty long shot. I’d already be stoked if he was also considering me. And the chance of making it work over that distance? I am clueless. It’s probably something I’ll have to find out if it even reaches that point.
